- The "author" of the article is Lisa Marie, which is the name of Elvis' daughter.
- The fossil was found near Memphis, Tennessee, often called "The City that Elvis Built" and the location of Elvis' famous home, Graceland.
- The name of the sheriff was Vernon Smith, an amalgamation of the first name of Elvis' father and the maiden name of Elvis' mother.
- The fossil was dated to 77 million years ago. Elvis died on August 16, 1977.
- Comedians and other yuksters have been touting for decades a supposed weakness the King had for food, especially jelly donuts.
