Sotheby's has announced that "Sue" will be put up for auction on October 4th in New York.
"It'll be a very quick event," said David Redden, executive vice president of Sotheby's. "It's the only object being sold on that day. Just one item. It will take perhaps three minutes to sell."
Sotheby's will allow any American institution that buys "Sue" to take three years to pay off the million dollar or more price tag. However, the auction will be a public auction, open to everybody.
The current schedule has "Sue" on display
"Sue" will be auctioned on Saturday, October 4, 1997, at 10:15a.
